Case Management Staff

Martelle OlsenMARTELLE OLSEN, Case Manager, holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration (Health and Human Services) from the University of Arizona, and earned her Masters Certificate in Gerontology in 2002.  Her favorite part of her job is working with wards, and Martelle would like to pursue a degree in counseling someday.

Born in Brigham City, Utah (though she lived in South Africa until the age of five), Martelle has a deep appreciation for beautiful scenery.  She and her husband are kept very busy by their four children, and Martelle also enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, golfing and cooking, when she gets the chance.

Bill HowsdenBILL HOWSDEN, Case Manager, joined Fleming and Curti in August 2002. Bill is a native Arizonan, born in the small railroad town of Winslow. He has since lived in various parts of the country, including Nebraska, Colorado, and New Jersey. He always appreciated the spectacular geography and climate of the Southwest and returned to Arizona in 1986.

Bill graduated from Trenton State College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He has completed graduate coursework in social work and special education and rehabilitation at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University. He was previously employed by Child Protective Services, where he served as guardian for foster children. Bill’s other professional experience includes counseling Tohono O’odham children and their families on the reservation, and working with children and adults with disabilities and mental illness.

Most sunrises will find Bill walking his two dogs. He enjoys movies, meditation, and hikes. He recently purchased a house that he is fixing up rather slowly.

Sonia GarciaSONIA GARCIA, Case Management Assistant, is originally from Texas, and studied accounting at the University of Texas at El Paso.  This prepared her for her first job at Fleming & Curti, when she worked as a Financial Assistant for two years.  Sonia left the firm when she moved away (she loves to travel, and has lived as far away as Virginia), but when she returned to Tucson in 2005, she was eager to come back to work with wards, clients and fellow staff members she had missed.

In addition to traveling (anywhere with blue water!), Sonia’s hobbies include running, shopping and hiking, and she has recently taken up ballroom dance.  The rest of her time is consumed in caring for her two Italian Greyhounds.
